Is FishingTactix really free to use?

Yes. Weather, bite predictions, species cards, conditions guide, kit checklist, venue browsing and regulations are completely free. Pro features like marine and solunar data, the rig simulator, smart trip planner, catch logging with photos, cloud sync and community features come with a 7-day free trial, then a low annual subscription.

Do I need to download anything?

No download needed. FishingTactix is a Progressive Web App that runs in your browser. On mobile, tap "Add to Home Screen" and it works just like a native app, with offline support, push notifications and full-screen mode. Prefer a store install? It's on Google Play too.

Does it work without phone signal?

Yes. The app caches weather data, regulations, species info, venue maps and your catch logs locally. You can log catches, check regulations, review your data and use the rig simulator with zero signal. Data syncs automatically when you're back online.

How does the bite prediction score work?

The bite score combines 10 real-time factors: barometric pressure (trend and absolute), temperature, wind speed, moon phase, solunar feeding windows, tide state, river levels, cloud cover and time of day. Each factor is weighted differently depending on your discipline. The result is a simple 0-100 score with a factor breakdown showing what's helping and what's hurting. The five-day bite forecast extends this across the next five days, and match reports auto-capture a retroactive BiteSync for the date and venue of every session.

Will other people see my fishing spots?

Only if you choose to share them. Privacy Shield gives you three levels: Secret Spot (location completely hidden), Fuzzy (blurred to a roughly 2 mile area), or Exact. The default is Fuzzy. Your private catch logs and venue data are never visible to other users.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro is £14.99 a year - one simple price, no hidden tiers. You start with a 7-day free trial and can cancel anytime from Settings.

Can I use it for coarse, sea and fly fishing?

Yes, all three disciplines are fully supported. Choose your discipline during onboarding and the app tailors weather data, bite predictions, species cards, tactics and regulations to match. You can switch disciplines or enable multiple disciplines at any time in Settings.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings and tap "Delete My Account". This permanently removes all your data from our servers - profile, catches, photos, venues, messages, everything - within 30 days. You can also export all your data first using the "Export All My Data (GDPR)" button. Alternatively, visit our Delete Account page.
